Maureen Gorman joined Davis McGrath as a member in July 2007. Her experience as a trademark examining attorney in the United States Patent and Trademark Office from 2000 to 2002 is of immense value to the firm's clients in the prosecution of their trademark applications.

After her departure from the USPTO, Maureen continued to build her expertise in the intellectual property field, founding her own trademark/copyright law practice in 2002. The guiding principles of Maureen's successful solo practice—affordability, personal service, and ethical behavior—are also the fundamental values of Davis McGrath.

Maureen has been selected as a trademark consultant in numerous Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) actions and district court matters in New Jersey, Michigan and Illinois. Her litigation experience includes handling Opposition and Cancellation matters, ex parte appeals to the TTAB, and infringement and unfair competition actions in Illinois.

Maureen represents individuals and entities in a broad and varied spectrum of commercial endeavors, from clothing retailers and manufacturers to producers of health products. Restaurants, hotels, publishers, media producers, religious organizations, educational institutions, advertising agencies and software developers are but a few of the types of business for which she has secured trademark registrations.

Maureen began her private practice in insurance and commercial litigation.
